Lewis, George: High Road, Low Road for flexible instrumental ensemble,

High Road, Low Road is for at least eight performers in an open instrumentation. The individuals lead other members of the ensemble. Instead of a score and conductor, a set of 38 cards guide the work with instructions that happen only once as well as events with multiple occurrences. George Lewis, a gifted improvisor, created High Road, Low Road for players with or without backgrounds in improvisation. Orpheus Music, Thought & Technology premiered this piece in April 2022 at Belgium's Concertgebouw Brugge.
