Vasily Suprunov has been a bassoonist with the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto Casa da Music in Portugal since 2003. As a professional, Vasily Suprunov uses cane from the south of France to build his handmade reeds. All bassoon reeds are tested and finished individually.

The Thunemann shaper is the most popular shaper in Germany and perhaps also throughout Europe. Reeds made using this shaper are great for orchestral as well as solo playing and the reeds are very flexibel across all registers.

The Suprunov 1 shaper is Vasily Suprunov's own personalised shaper. He has been making reeds with the shape since 2014 and we think they fit particularly well on Heckel and Yamaha bassoons. The reeds produce a large and voluminous sound with a beautiful core.
